Birmingham Hospice is not fully funded by the NHS, instead relying on fundraising and donations to fund our services. Now, more than ever, our expert and compassionate care is needed to ensure people die in a place of their choice, with dignity and in comfort. But the cost of care is soaring, making it harder for us to care for everyone who needs it. We want to ensure we’re here for local communities now, and in the future. By taking part in Bulls in the City as a school or business, visiting the trail with your family or just sharing our message, you will make a difference.
After the summer trail, the sculptures will be auctioned off to raise money for Birmingham Hospice. You will have the opportunity to own a bull of your own and make a difference to ensure the future of your local hospice.
We`re beyond excited to share that the Bulls in the City auction raised an INCREDI-BULL £156,100 🎉
We had some late donations come in which meant the grand total from last night was more than we expected.
Huge thanks to everyone who placed bids, showed support, and helped these bold bovines find new pastures – your contributions made this a moo-ving success! 🐂
Every pound raised last night will go towards helping to make every moment matter for patients and families being cared for by Birmingham Hospice .
We can`t thank every single person enough – to those people in the room, online, watching the live stream or just someone who has supported our trail over the last two years. THANK YOU!
Huge thanks for last night go to: 🔨@auctionhousebirminghambc for being our Auction Partner – Chris Edwards was a fantastic auctioneer we`re so grateful! 🖥️ @millenniumpoint for being our Event Partner and letting us host our auction in their immersive auditorium. 🐯 @wildinart for supporting our project team and being wonder-bull trail partners! 🎤 @pje122 for being the best host we could ask for – and he even bought a bull! 🚚 @rhg_birmingham for moving our large bull herd out like a logistical dream. 🤍 Karen, our marvellous Clinical Nurse Specialist, and supporter John Harris who took to the stage last night to speak on behalf of our charity and tell their stories.
Our magnificent herd go under the hammer at 7pm to raise vital funds for Birmingham Hospice.
It costs more than £1.5 million to run our hospice for one single month. We are only part funded by the NHS and the rest of our income needs to come from fundraising and voluntary donations – just like the money raised at our auction.
So dig deep, bid big and let`s raise money for Birmingham Hospice! 🤍
To watch the auction or bid online, head over to our Auction Partner`s website from 6.30pm and there will be a link to watch live: www.auctionhouse.co.uk/birmingham

Ay we! Look at this bostin` bovine! 🌟 @frankontheradio
This little beauty`s off to the Bulls in the City auction this Thursday – and it’s been painted by none other than Frank Skinner himself! 🎨
That’s right – the Black Country’s own funny man swapped the mic for a paintbrush.
Our friends in the Black Country will love this bull that`s been decked out in the region`s flag. Black, white, red and them iconic chains – it’s flying the local colours with pride!
If yow love a bit of local pride, a bit of art, or just wanna own summat painted by a telly legend, get this in your diary. It’s one of a kind – and just like the Black Country, it’s got a lotta character.
You can bid online or in person by attending the event (auction starts at 7pm at Millennium Point). More info here: www.birminghamhospice.org.uk/get-involved/fundraise/events/auction/
The Bulls in the City Farewell Event saw a stampede of more than 1,500 people charge through Millennium Point over the weekend as we said bye bye to the bulls.
Our magnificent herd will be heading to auction this Thursday to raise as much funds as possible for Birmingham Hospice 🤍
And our lovely herd of calves will be returning to their schools and groups this week to live in their forever homes after a busy summer out on the trail.
Thank you to everyone who attended, all our wonderful volunteers and everyone who made the weekend such a success!
